Why you feel your car performance decrease day by day? (Part 1)

“Car performance will drop according to its age.”

Most of the car owner believe the above statement and assume that is normal circumstances. However we would tell you what's the root cause, and we could offer you solution to resolve it:

Root cause 1 : Sludge in your engine

Q : What is sludge?

A : Sludge is basically a dirty, sticky, grease-like substance, formed due to oxidation/contamination of oil in the engine. 

Q : How and why sludge forms?

A : 

1. Inconsistent oil change interval - when an engine oil is over its life span, the engine oil will become unstable and tends to oxidize when exposed to oxygen under conditions of high temperatures. During oxidation, the molecules of engine oil break down and the resultant products combine with the dirt in engine like carbon, metallic particles, incomplete burn of fuel and water. Together the mixture forms a sticky sludge.
2. Using low quality of engine oil – The features of engine oil is to lubricating engine component to reduce friction while component is moving, cooling engine and etc. However some low quality of engine oil in market could not carry out the function up to spec and it cause the sludge forms easily and faster.

Q : How sludge decrease your car performance?

Sludge can block the proper flow of oil to parts that need it, and it causes engine parts to retain excess heat, leading to damage over time.

Secondly sludge will act like a fat in human, it will burden your engine operation and increase wear & tear, the larger amount of sludge contain in your engine the larger damage it will be. Furthermore the fuel consumption will increase as your car need more fuel to accelerate.

Q : Any solution to resolve this issue?

Yes, this issue is resolvable.  However it still need owner to keep up it after treatment apply, owner had to do the oil change on schedule and using quality engine oil.
